Pumped Up Kicks

If you haven't heard this song then you must be living under a rock....my nephew Elijah sings this song all the time. I plan on listening to Foster The People's whole album soon so I'll let you guys know what's good....

Flo Rida

I'm not a huge Flo Rida fan but there's a ton of people out there who are....I do like this song though cause it makes me wanna dance.....

J. De'Lon

Joey Crack or J. De'Lon as he is known around Milwaukee and as I'm coming to find all over actually. Joey is a good friend of mine and he's also a very good singer and I present him to those of you that never heard of him or those of you who know him but never heard any of his music. He's done a lot of work in the city of Milwaukee and he travels to do shows often so he's got it in him. I think he has the potential to go far and do great things. I got a couple of his tracks and Turn The Lights Low gets played everyday. #supportlocalmusic You can download the track off a mixtape on datpiff.com http://www.datpiff.com/mixtapeaddictscom-Mixtapeaddictscom-Presents-Addicted-Vol-7-Hosted-mixtape.120691.html

Oh Land-Sun Of A Gun

I think I discovered this song on youtube, I liked it and downloaded it right away. I haven't really gotten into her yet but I like this song.

I'm The Sh*t

I don't think there's a lot I need to say about this song.....just listen to the lyrics and if you're the shit then you can relate lol.... There are a lot of remixes, I originally heard it with Kanye but I dig Trey on the other remix too lol.... This is the remix.....

Notch

The first song I heard by him was Que Te Pica and I fell in love with the song right away. I couldn't stop moving....lol. A little bit of time went by before I heard another song by him. It wasn't until I was in the car with Sandon and he played Dale Pa Tras and I played that song over and over again and over and over again. I love Spanish music. Even though I don't know what they're saying, I know it makes me feel a certain way and I just wanna dance.

Haven't Met You Yet

I just love this song so much and here's Michael Buble' singing it live.....

Kenna

The first song I ever heard by him was Say Goodbye To Love and I put all my peoples up on this song. We even had a little shuffle we did, we'd be getting it. He's got a bunch of songs that I like. Sandon put me onto Loose Wires and I love it cause of Pharrell. If you like N.E.R.D, you'll probably like Kenna. Out of Control is probably my favorite song by him though. It was on a video game commercial I think.

David Guetta

He's pretty well known around the world...he makes some of the best dance music to me. You can almost always tell when a Guetta song is on, it's really happy feeling and upbeat. I like the collaborations he makes most of the time. My favorite songs by David Guetta are Memories with Kid Cudi and Without You featuring Usher. I like Sexy Chick with Akon too. That song always gets me super hype.

Lykke Li

I couldn't tell you how I came upon Lykke Li. First song I heard by her was Dance, Dance, Dance and then I started getting into her album from a few years ago Youth Novels and liked what I heard. She's got a bunch of good songs like Breaking It Up and I'm Good, I'm Gone but my favorite was Little Bit. Come to find out Drake added himself to a remix of the song which I love but not better than the original. I just recently found out that she had a new album out so once I listen to it, I'll let you guys know how it is.

My Guilty Pleasure

Now I love this song because it gets not just me but everybody hype as hell. You'll be in the club and everybody'll just be walking around sipping they little drink and shit and then when this song comes on, the drink is all gone and the cup gets sat down and people come out of nowhere and it goes down from there. And a couple years later this shit still brings me to life lol. I could only be talking about Bow by Ray Nitti. I stay riding through Detroit and it's surrounding areas blasting it. I don't know what I would do if I wasn't able to hook my phone up to the radio in the car. You gotta see my little sister Grace get it to this song. She be smacking her kneed hard as hell #doe lol.....love you sis........

The Cranberry Show

I got to give it up to @ArcaneofTCS and @youngfocusrox of The Cranberry Show of Milwaukee, WI. I recently downloaded all of their mixtapes and their album S.A.P.S off they're website www.thecranberryshow.com and you should do the same. I'm finding it important to support unsigned artists because they're music needs to reach more people, that's just my opinion. I think that these guys make some pretty dope music and I listen to them everyday now. I'm subscribed to them on youtube @ youtube.com/thecranberryshow and you should too. #supportlocalmusic

Worldwide Underground

Erykah Badu has put out a ton of great music. There's nothing she's put out that I don't like but my favorite piece of work she put together is the album Worldwide Underground. No matter how much time goes by, it will remain in my playlist. It's one of those albums you can put in at the beginning of a gathering to get everybody grooving. My three favorite songs are Back In The Day, Danger, and I Want You.

Chester French-She Loves Everybody

This was my introduction to Chester French and I instantly downloaded this song and every other song I could find by them watching MTV that day. I think Chester French is dope.

The Black Keys- Tighten Up

I was watching tv one day and a commercial for some vehicle featured this song. Don't ask me which one but please believe I recorded the commercial so I could shazam the song and that's when I first learned of the Black Keys. I downloaded the song asap so I could listen to it all the time. I can't say that I've gotten into their music but I'm a fan of this song so I would definitely listen to more of their stuff. Let me just say the video for this song is hilarious.

MGMT

All I know is every song I hear by them, I can't stop playing em....my favorite is Electric Feel and when you hear it you'll know why. It comes on and you can't help but feel it. Frank Ocean even sampled it on Nature Feels which is dope in its own right. Another song I love by them is Kids. Chiddy Bang sampled it on Opposite of Adults which is another dope song. I love groovy white folk and MGMT is a groovy band. They have music I can listen to when I'm Pilot Lexi lol....

Passion Pit

I wouldn't know who Passion Pit was if it weren't for my Kinfolk Ju Bizzle.... the first song I heard by them was Sleepyhead. That shit was dope as hell from the beginning to the end. It's really different and interesting. It has a groove too and you already know so I'm not even gonna go there....but another song I love by them is The Reeling, this goes hard. I'm so glad we have it on the jukebox at work. Whenever I play songs that's one of em. Anyways, I haven't really gotten past these two songs but when I'll do I'm sure I'll be telling you about whatever hotness I find....

A Time To Be Thankful

Since it's Thanksgiving time, I wanna send some special shout outs to the people in my life that mean the most to me. I've dedicated songs to you all that make me think about you. I love you guys and thanks for being in my life. To my mom I dedicate Hey Mama by Kanye West because he felt about his mother the same way I feel about mine...I love her more than anything in this world and I hate that she has to go through pain everyday but she's strong and I cherish everyday with her. She means a lot to me. To my dad I dedicate A Song For You by Donny Hathaway because that song expresses exactly how I feel about my dad. I couldn't have asked for a better father. No person knows me better than him and I love him so much. To my stepmom(I never call her that) Angie I wanna dedicate The Light by Common because this song makes me think about the way my father feels about her. She's made my dad very happy and I'm grateful for her cause she's been great to me as well. To my little sister Grace I dedicate Look At Me Now by Chris Brown because she's come a long way. I'm so proud of her and I want her to continue on the path to greatness. To my brother Lauren I dedicate Up by Wiz Khalifa because even though we fuss, we always have something that brings us together. We're getting better and growing as a unit. I love you big brother. To my BM Jelly I dedicate Hate On Me by Jill Scott because this song makes me proud of everything you've accomplished. You work, go to school, and take care of Elijah and Lauren. You're gonna be greater one day. I feel like you've come a long way. To Cheri I dedicate Supernatural by King to you because that's then kind of love we have. Nobody has ever loved me the way you have and I appreciate you. To my Kinfolk Ju I dedicate the whole Da Unbreakables album by Three 6 Mafia. I couldn't pick just one song. You are my best friend and I have so many great memories with you. We're more like sisters cause no matter how much we fight we always end up Kinfolks again. I guess that's just something that will never go away. To my Nani I dedicate On The Floor by Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull because we always had so much fun together. We were able to have a genuine friendship and keep it exciting. We used to tear it up and you know they don't wanna see us now. Thanks for being there when I need you. To my friend Rebecca I dedicate Dile Al Amor to her because she loves what I like to call my cha cha breakdown during the bridge of the song. It makes her laugh and it makes me feel good to know that we share this memory. I can't go around her a lot cause she always wants me to do that shit lol..... To my Fro I dedicate Donald Trump by Mac Miller to you because I know you love him and he's pretty cool. You've been good to me and we've had lots of fun together. Thanks for being the best baby fro....lol To my sister Jasmine I dedicate Young, Wild, and Free by Wiz Kalifa, Snoop Dogg, and Bruno Mars because she's lived her life and now she's ready to take her life to the next level. I have a lot of faith that Jasmine will go far and accomplish things people never thought she would. I'm glad to have her back in my life. To my friend Ashley I dedicate You Got Me by The Roots because you're always there for me. We've been there for each other during some hard times and I'm glad to know that we can always depend on each other. To my BFF Keva I dedicate Someone Like You by Adele because every time I hear that song I think of her....and her horrible singing lol. No but she's been a really good friend to me this last year and I'm grateful for her and I'm happy that she's making advancements in life. To Keva's husband and my big brother I dedicate Wonton Soup by Lil B because he's an asshole for liking this song, but the funniest thing is him doing his Chef dance lol....Greg has been a pretty good big brother though. He's brought a lot of good music into my life... To Antoine I dedicate So Fresh, So Clean by Outkast because he has a style all his own. I really just want him to know that he means more to me and a ride. We got a lot of memories together and you're one of my best friends. To James I dedicate Big Pimpin' by Jay Z and UGK. I appreciate the support you give me and I look forward to working with you and turning this friendship into something great. To Trayton I dedicate It Takes Two by Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock because great things are about to happen and it's because we're gonna be doing them. You've always been real with me and that's what friends are supposed to do. To my friend Sandon I dedicate Dale Pa Tras by Notch because you're the only friend that had heard of him and I only knew of one of his songs and you put me on. We share a love for music which I think makes and keeps our friendship so strong. I love you. To Tabitha I dedicate Cheers by Rihanna because you've been on this incredible journey and you've inspired me and so many people. I'm happy to call you my friend. To my friend Seneca Mack I dedicate Creator by Santigold because this song reminds me of you. You're unique, one of a kind like me and I love your spirit. To my friend Yulonda I dedicate Green Eyes by Erykah Badu because I'm happy that you've found true love and happiness. I know what you've been through and I'm happy for you. You're my sister and I love you. To my friend Anthony I dedicate Get Busy by Sean Paul because even though we've grown apart you will always hold a special place in my heart. All of our greatest moments together involved dance and I learned a lot from you about life too. I love and miss you so much.

Practice

I heard everybody talking shit about Drake turning Back That Ass Up into an r&b song and I probably am one of the only people that love it. I love Drake better as a singer than a rapper anyways.

There Goes My Baby

I don't know why I love this song so much but I do. I used to sing it at karaoke at work all the time....lol

Quadron

So lately I've been on this Super Quadron kick. They only have one album out, but it's so good. It's self titled and it's an album you can listen to from start to finish. I never thought that people from Denmark could be so soulful. All of their music has a groove to it, their lyrics are amazing, and I like CoCo's voice. I would deeply suggest that everyone look into their music and I hope they come out with some new music soon. Even if they don't, I'll never stop playing this album. It's two years old, but everyday it feels brand new. Don't ask me to pick a favorite song cause I wouldn't be able to. It varies from day to day, but here go some that I really, really like. Make sure to check em out at www.myspace.com/quadronquadron, www.facebook.com/quadronmusic, and follow them on Twitter @quadronmusic.

Could You Be Loved

Bob Marley is one of my favorite artists ever and this is one of my favorite songs of all time.....R.I.P Bob Marley

Otis

I can't say that I was on the band wagon when WTT was coming out. Everybody was talking about Otis by Jay and Ye and I had not the slightest clue what that was. So I'm in the club and the song came on....I lost my damn mind. I downloaded on my phone asap so I could listen to it all the time. I was at work on a Wednesday night and me and Erica were losing our minds together. Every time we're together in the car Otis comes on or Niggas In Paris which is our other song that we lose our minds too. But back to Otis cause the song is so dope. Both of em spit and I love how they go back and forth. I just love this song and gotta play it now......

Bright Lights, Bigger City

I just love this song so much. When I'm mad all I have to do is put this song on and it's all right....here's Cee-Lo and Wiz Khalifa.

Frank Ocean

If you've heard No Church In The Wild or Novacane then you know who Frank Ocean is. I don't know how anybody couldn't be a fan of this guy...he's an amazing songwriter. If you've never heard Nostalgia/Ultra then you've been missing out. There's not one song on that mixtape that I don't like.....I couldn't pick a favorite so the 3 songs I listen to most off of there would have to be Nature Feels, There Will Be Tears, and Swim Good. My favorite song of his though would be Thinking About You....I love his voice too. I could listen to him for hours.

Amy

It's kinda bittersweet to be writing this cause Amy Winehouse is no longer with us. It's sad that I won't be able to get new music from my favorite female singer of all time, but she has left some of the best music I've ever heard. The first time I heard Amy was on You Know I'm No Good and the song had to grow on me at first but when it did, I wanted to listen to more of her. Her debut album played over and over again when I first got it. My favorite song by Amy is Addicted, but I love every song I've ever heard her on. Cupid and Valerie are 2 of my favorite songs to sing by her. Her voice is so soulful and powerful at the same time and her music is real life. Every time I listen to Amy, I go to a place only she can take me. Her music has helped me through every break-up and it cheers me up when I'm sad or upset. I have no doubt that she would have went on to be one of the greatest artists to ever live, that's what she is to me but I never got a chance to see her live :-(. I also wanted you all to see Bruno Mars singing Valerie in remembrance of Amy.....made me cry a little.

Nova Stylez- Keep My Smoke

Anybody who knows me knows I love any song that's about smoking. I love to smoke and I love all my friends that smoke and I know they'll love this song too. A friend of mine made this song and this is the first song I've heard by him but he's gained a new fan in me and I hope to fans out of all of you. This is the perfect song to roll one up and release some stress. The song has a nice groove and his spit is well up to par. I give my mans big kudos for the song. Take a listen to Keep My Smoke and do some research on Nova Stylez, you won't be disappointed. You can give a follow on twitter @swagsociety.

Big Night Tonight

I know this has nothing to do with music, but I have to get this out...I am so excited about Survivor Series tonight and anybody who knows me knows that I love my wrestling. Now you'd also know how much I love I love The Rock and he's gonna be wrestling tonight with my favorite wrestler John Cena in a match against Awesome Truth. I think everybody assumes that Rock and Cena will win, but I kinda want to see things get a little interesting in the WWE. I won't say too much, but I'm excited for the whole pay per view because Zack Ryder is gonna get a U.S Title match WOO WOO WOO YOU KNOW IT.....and I don't really care about the WHC title but I've made it very clear how much I hate Mark Henry. I think that he is really a horrible person in real life and not just on tv. I want C.M Punk the be the WWE champion because I hate Alberto Del Rio and I want Team Orton to win against Team Barrett. Why did Wade get his own team anyways???? lol....When is HHH coming back? When is Kevin Nash gonna retire? And is Karma really pregnant? Like in real life???? Well, I gotta go to work...I'll be back after I watch Survivor Series to talk about more music.....

The Dream - Let Me See The Booty

Ok now when I say I listen to all kinds of music, I listen to everything. Now commercial or more mainstream artist aren't my first choice to listen to, but this song is hilarious and I have the best memory ever with my friend Toine. He picked me up from school one day and had this shit blasting. So we're headed East on North Ave around 2 or 3 something in the afternoon and he was getting that shit. I never heard this song before and I had Pharmacy Tech stuff on the brain, but this brought me back to my reality. I think I had him play the song like all the way to my house and by the second time it came on I was geeked too. We were hype as hell in the car in the middle of the day going down North lol.....I'm not sure if we were smoking too, but I'm sure we were. lol

Stay

My friend Maieasha was walking through the kitchen at work one day singing...Before you take off running away....when I got back in the restaurant, I heard the song playing on the jukebox so I went over to see who it was singing and it was Mozella. I never heard of her a day in my life but she's got some pretty nice songs. Nothing really spectacular about her music, it's just really real and relatable. It's good music to sing along to when you're riding in the car by yourself lol....

Wink by Little Dragon

The first time I heard this song I was a little apprehensive at first until the groove came in, ya'll know I'm a groover and this grove is something serious. This is one of those songs that makes me........excuse me *puts headphones in ears* I had to put the song on. I can't write about this song without wanting to listen to it. Now I have to admit the first time I heard the singer, I thought she'd look like me maybe, but I was so shocked to find out that she was Swedish-Japanese. The singer of the band's name is Yukimi Nagano. I was so impressed with her vocals and I just love her voice so much. This song is so dope and as I get more into Little Dragon, they're just dope. They got 3 albums out I believe so when you get a chance, check em out.

Milwaukee Music

I'm from Milwaukee, WI and I am a really big fan of some of the local artists. Some of my favorites are Speak Easy, The Cranberry Show, GidMoney, Pizzle, of course Ricky Phontaine, and there's so many more dope artist out there and I promise you all that I will bring them to you. Any artist out there wanna be featured here send me music and links to music and I'll spread the word.

N.E.R.D......

I may be the only person that feels this way, but to me it doesn't get any better than N.E.R.D. I'm sorry, but we can agree to disagree and we don't even have to argue about it. I just want to tell you of my love for the three that make up my favorite music artist of all time. From the moment I heard "Lapdance" I knew it was over. Pharrell, Chad, and Shae are incredible as a unit. Their first album In Search Of was one of the most incredible works of art I've ever heard. It was like everything that I love about music mixed into one. They're not a rock band, not just hip hop artists, or an r&b singer, not even a pop group, but the combination of all music genres put into one so everybody can relate. I have never missed but one concert of theirs and I plan on missing no more. I even went to see them all by myself, there was no way I was going to miss the show and I was able to go. I never thought I'd meet someone who shared the same appreciation for N.E.R.D as me until I met my homie L. Jay. We would sit in my car and listen to their music and just enojoy it. It's nice to be able to share them with somebody and we became really good friends because of N.E.R.D. So after In Search Of came Fly or Die which features one of my favorite N.E.R.D songs Wonderful Place. My favortie album by them is Seeing Sounds. I played it everyday for about a year on repeat....My friends were forced to listen to N.E.R.D and those that weren't familiar were put on. And now we have Nothing which I think is great as well. I don't think that N.E.R.D could ever make bad music and there's nothing anybody can say to change the way I feel about them.

J. Cole

I can't say that I was a fan of his from the start. A couple months ago my friend Sandon treated me to his concert and when I tell you that was one of the livest shows I've ever been to, believe it was. From start to finish his energy was high and he had the crowd going all night.  Ever since the show I found myself into his music a little bit more and I really love "Can't Get Enough" and I don't know why cause it's got Trey Songz on it and it's so commercial but I own it. It's a guilty pleasure of mine, I guess it's cause it speaks to a side of myself that's been suppressed for quite some time now but I'm happy. So anyway, of course I heard "In The Morning" with Drake and I was a fan of that song but nothing else that I heard by him really caught my ear until I went to his show. Now I listen to his mixtapes and then I'll get into his album, but I like to start at the essence of every artist, the beginning. I have to listen to Can't Get Enough at least once a day. LOL...thanks Sandon. And his DJ was all the way turnt up too lol....

Shades

I'm not really a Diddy Dirty Money fan but this song is dope as hell. It features Lil Wayne, Justin Timberlake, Bilal, and James Fauntleroy(whoever that is). I first heard this song at work cause my guy Taurean always played it. I never payed attention to it until my friend Christina sent it to me via bbm like we always used to do, but I didn't listen to it when she first sent it to me. One day I'm listening to my music on my phone and this song comes on. Lil Wayne starts the song off and at first I was like ok.....then the beat dropped and Diddy started singing and it threw me off at first but it was ok. I was just loving the way the song flowed and when it gets to Justin Timberlake's part....the song had won me over. But my absolute favorite part of the song is the last note hit by Bilal at the very end of the song. It sent chills through me and I had to play it over and over and over and over again....so next time I saw Taurean, I expressed my deep love for the song and he was like, "Yeah nigga, I tried to tell you." He's funny, but thanks to him and Christina, I found Shades by Diddy Dirty Money.

Kendrick Lamar A.D.H.D

I heard of Kendrick Lamar but I never got into his music until I was in the car with my friend Toine and he played some of his music. There was a song that came on and it started off...uh uh fuck that and I forgot to ask what the song was called. The feel of the song was right up my alley, it was real chill and laid back. I haven't learned the lyrics to be able to tell you what the song is about exactly but I love it. My friend Brandon was listening to some Kendrick Lamar one day on BBM so I asked him and he gave me a different song at first but then he told me the song I was looking for was A.D.H.D. I downloaded it asap and listen to it everyday. I downloaded Section 80 and everything is good on there.

Chromeo

I heard of Chromeo a while ago but never got into their music. It wasn't until I saw them perform on some late night show that I became intrigued. I youtubed them and googled them and wikipedia'd them to learn everything I could about them and I found that they make really good music. I love music that has a groove to it and their music is some of the grooviest shit I've ever heard. They got a bunch of great songs....When The Night Falls, Don't Turn The Lights On, and my favorite Tenderoni. When I'm not in such a good mood, all I gotta do is turn on some Chromeo and I forget why I was upset. If you wanna get the party started, throw on some Chromeo....

The Weeknd

You've never heard anything like The Weeknd and you'd think it's a group or some sort of collaborative, but he's just one person and he is stupid awesome. Drake is a big fan and probably how a lot of us came to know about this incredible songwriter. He doesn't make songs like everyone else and his voice is different too. Three mixtapes in....Echoes of Silence, Thursday, and House of Balloons all which you can download for free at www.the-weeknd.com. I suggest you stop what you're doing and do that now. If I had to pick a favorite song, again I couldn't....my top 3 that I listen to would have to be What You Need, High For This, and Coming Down. And his version of Trust Issues is way better than Drake's....I'm just saying....

King

I find it amazing that these three women came together and made one of the most epic EP's I've ever heard. The Story is a three song EP put out by Amber, Anita, and Paris who write and produce their own music. Their lyrics are amazing, their voices are amazing, and the songs are amazing. Hey was the first song that I heard by them and I had to google the song lyrics to discover who the artist was. The Story and my favorite Supernatural came soon there after. I can't wait to hear more music from these ladies.....check em out at weareking.com for more information.

Lucky Third

In life, we all want to be apart of something.  I found a place where I can be me and allow myself the chance to really grow in this music thing......I found someone who believes in my talent and my abilities as an artist.....I found my family....Lucky Third Entertainment.  Along with Oh James and Ricky Phontaine, we make that what is Lucky Third.  This is the product of Sir James and Ricky Phontaine is the lead artist.  He has done a lot to not be signed by a major label.  Phontaine has a pretty big fan base over seas, you better google him and while you're at the computer head over to datpiff.com to download his latest mixtape Pretty Good Music.....the video for his single I'm Great is out too....check all that out and support local music.  Next up is Oh James.....I'm really excited to work with these guys and by the Summer of 2012 you will hear from me.....Lexi Trenee

Me and My Music

There is nothing I love more in this world than my music.  As I sit here at this computer, I have my music in my ears.  Music is the only thing I have that is mine, it is always there for me when I need it, and it never lets me down.  I can sit and listen to music for hours.  I do everything to music and as much as I enjoy writing and singing myself, I am much more of a fan and would rather listen, enjoy, and share music that I believe is great.  Besides my trees, my music is the only thing that keeps me sane.  It touches my heart, speaks to my soul, and stimulates my brain.  It stirs up emotions I may not want to deal with and forces me to express my feelings.  It makes me dance, nod my head, and tap my foot and yes I do tap my foot quite often.  So the purpose of me writing this is to introduce you to my music.  You may or may not have heard of the artists and songs I will be sharing with you, but I feel that these musicians and songs need to be heard by everyone and it's up to you to like it or not.  I listen to all kinds of music and am open to discovering new hotness everyday.  I also thought that this would be a good outlet to express my gratitude to those who share my love for music.
